Holmes Mill Wedding Photographer
“Rich and Sonia have been absolutely amazing! They shot our friends wedding a few years ago and we are so glad we booked them to shoot our wedding at Holmes Mill. The process beforehand was so easy and despite being nervous about being awkward in front of the camera they both made us feel completely relaxed. We were so pleased they embraced our idea for outdoor shots in the countryside and scouted out the perfect location! And the photos looks so amazing! Thank you so so much!“
When Laura and Rob first reached out to us about shooting their Holmes Mill wedding in Clitheroe we were so excited – they were planning the most stylish and laid back day. Laura and Rob are the loveliest people and we couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding!
Getting ready
We started shooting at the cutest hired cottage just a stones throw from the venue, where Laura and her family were staying prior to the big day. It was really chilled morning, although we could definitely sense a few pre wedding nerves amongst the giggles. Laura's mum helped ease them by reminding her and in turn showing us some of the photos from the hen do shenanigans..!
The ceremony
The wedding took place on the upper floor at Holmes Mill. It’s a room full of rustic and industrial charm which Laura and Rob added to further with their choice of floral details. To say we were a little excited when we first laid eyes on it would be an understatement. It was a romantic ceremony with lots of giggles and an odd tear or two! Our favourite moment from the ceremony was right at the very beginning when they had the biggest squishy hug. We managed to capture both perspectives of this moment which made it that little bit extra special.
After the ceremony
Holmes Mill has the perfect spot for the confetti which we of course made good use of! After being covered in confetti Laura and Rob held back and shared a super sweet moment which we managed to capture. We put that down to Photographers instinct! The drinks reception took place at the neighbouring 1823 Spinning Block Bistro, which they incorporated the most beautiful table decor with splashes of copper detail. It was the perfect setting for their guests to enjoy every part of the day, from the drinks reception all the way up to the party!
The Portraits
We were blessed with options to take portraits within the venue, we just love that industrial feel! We were super duper lucky also that just ten minutes up the road is the Lancashire countryside. The views were simply breathtaking and to add to it, we had an incredible sunset to work with. We love it when plans just fall into place like that!
The Party
Other than the time we followed the boys outside where they created what can only be referred to as a very impressive balancing act (Let us know if there is an official term for this!) we simply had no need to leave the dance floor in the evening - It was pumping! Rob joined Laura on the dance floor for one of the final dances of the night which was a fitting end to the day!
Thanks again to Laura and Rob for having us document your day, it was a blast! Huge thanks also our wonderful past clients Cesca and Matt who recommended us!
