It was our first time as Gate Street Barn Wedding Photographers and we couldn’t have hoped for a more incredible day with Faye and Chris! We really clicked with them from our very first Skype call to Singapore where they were based at the time.

Faye and Chris got married in July at the fab Gate Street Barn, which is located in beautiful Bramley in Surrey.

Getting ready

Faye got ready at the venue with her crew of bridesmaids, and the atmosphere was a mix of excitement and a few nerves! The final stages of bridal prep was one of Sonia’s favourite moments from the day - the moment Faye’s dad saw her in her dress for the first (See below!) Chris got ready at the impressive nearby Harbour Hotel with the boys. After getting ready he joined guests for an early pre wedding tipple. Why not eh?! He travelled to the ceremony with his best men in a very impressive Rolls Royce. Rich left a little earlier, getting a head start so he could capture them arriving!

The ceremony

The ceremony was beautiful and really quite emotional, with the tears flowing from Chris the moment he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. They shared the most beautiful embrace just before the ceremony began. The ceremony room was simply perfect, with Faye + Chris organising wonderful flower arrangements hanging from the ceiling lighting. It added something really special to not only the setting but the photos too - bonus!

After the ceremony

They had their drinks reception on the sun soaked lawns of Gate Street Barn where their guests enjoyed fizz, canapes and a few group photos in the only spot of shade! During this time the main barn was being set for the wedding breakfast. The decor was stunning! Every table had gorgeous gold cutlery with cute succulents for each place setting (Yep, we LOVED that idea too!). The Back wall was covered in fairy lights which helped us create some beautiful background bokeh!

For dinner they had the geniuses known as Kalm Kitchen, which was as always top notch! Having worked with the Kalm kitchen team before we knew the guests were in for a treat. They are amongst the best in the business. Not only is their food incredibly yummy but the methods of serving are second to none. Check them out!

After dinner and a set of speeches that covered just about every emotion possible, we headed out for some golden hour portraits. Beautiful evening sun isn't always guaranteed so we always like to try and get out in it for some shots. Faye + Chris were more than up for it, plus it gave them the chance to take a little time out together whilst we made some epic photos.

The Party

The first dance was a mixture of funky moves and some squidgy hugs, followed by more of the same between Faye and her dad - It was the cutest! They finished off the evening with a round of tequila shots. Most certainly one of the highlights of the day for us, you can't beat a tequila reaction!

a little Advice

“Relax and enjoy it! The build-up feels like it lasts forever, but the day will fly by. Try not to spend too long on the ‘traditional’ family line-up photos - candids are the best, and you’ll have more time for a wander and photos just the two of you. Don’t sweat on the small stuff - planning can make a good wedding, but only the two of you can make it your day. And finally, don’t say no if your new husband makes you drink a tequila shot..."

It was great to work alongside the talented James Wray who filmed their big day! Faye and Chris’s wedding was everything we LOVE about weddings. Thanks again for having us!
