Berkshire Wedding Photography
The beautiful Katie + Connor got married on another hot day last summer! Read all about their ufton court wedding below, starting at the very beginning of their journey..
"The day Connor proposed to me, we were at the top of Mount Snowdon on a beautiful sunny day in May. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I was so shocked and overcome with emotion I don’t think I actually remembered to say yes!
We jumped straight into venue hunting and deciding how we wanted to celebrate and make our day perfect. St Nicholas church won our hearts. It’s a beautiful little quaint church in Hurst, Berkshire which is particularly close to my heart as my lovely grandads ashes are resting in the church grounds. Having him close to me on our big day meant the world to me. We knew we wanted a summer wedding and loved the idea of a barn style venue. We came across Ufton Court and instantly fell in love. The grounds are beautiful and we had opportunity to make the barn look exactly how we wanted it to look. I pictured outdoor games on the lawn, a BBQ and lots of Pimms.
We set a date and that’s when the real planning started. Being super organised, I had to do lists and a budget spreadsheet! We got to work researching caterers, photographers, suit hire shops, wedding dress shops, bridesmaid dresses, make up artists, shoes... the list goes on!
We knew we wanted a BBQ and we wanted to incorporate my favourite treat into our day (afternoon tea with scones, jam and clotted cream!). I approached Fosters Catering and we talked though exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much hassle and they produced amazingly tasty food exactly how we wanted it. They dressed the tables as we wanted, provided the bar for the evening and were a complete pleasure to deal with.
James at Cherubs Floral Design provided us with the most beautiful table centrepieces. We wanted them to make an impact and boy did they! We found a fantastic band called A Good Company who made sure everyone was on the dance floor. Our cake was made by a friend of mine who had never made a wedding cake before. I’d sent her a rough design and she created the perfect cake. Each tier had a different flavour - all of which were delicious! Charismatic Cars transported us in a fantastic 1939 Rolls-Royce Wraith - I just wish it had air con as it was such a hot day!
On the morning of the wedding, the boys headed to a local cafe for a full English breakfast. They then headed back to our house to for a drink to calm the nerves and to get into their suits. Connors suit had been tailor made and designed by him. A truly unique 3 piece suit with so much detail, all completed by the very talented father and son duo at Healy and Son in Crowthorne. I can not recommend these guys enough. They are so knowledgeable and provided some fantastic ideas on what will make the suit really stand out. We also hired the groomsmen suits from them and they handmade all of the bow ties for all of the groomsmen. Rich met the boys after breakfast and was able to capture some fantastic moments - it seems that most of the boys were so hot, they weren’t wearing many clothes for most of the morning!
I had my mum and four bridesmaids with me at Wokefield Park. Armed with my army of hairdressers and make up artist, we set to work with the champagne flowing and the excitement building. My mum was the only person who had seen my dress so I was so excited to show my bridesmaids and capture their reaction. Sonia arranged the girls so she could capture the moment they saw me. This was such an emotional moment for me and probably the moment that it really sunk in that I was about to become a wife!
I don’t remember seeing Rich and Sonia much throughout the day but they were definitely there as we have got some fantastic shots. I was dreading the couple photos as I do not think I am the most photogenic person, but they put us both at ease and I am so pleased with the results.
Rich and Sonia were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They are both extremely professional, discreet and have truly mastered the art of being everywhere and capturing every detail of our wedding. I cannot thank them enough for their amazing work and providing us with some fantastic photos we will treasure forever"
